As a dietitian with celiac disease, May is one of my favorite months. Not only do we get to shine a light with Celiac Awareness Month, but we also get to share just how good gluten-free food can taste! One of the funniest things I hear from people is, "Oh I could never give up gluten, what would I eat?" Well, if your health depends on it, you will give up gluten in a heartbeat, and as for the food, you can eat everything you love thanks to companies like Van's Natural Foods.
I've put together five breakfast ideas that are easy to make, gluten-free, and delicious. Each breakfast has a combination of protein, fat, and carbohydrates to keep you energized all morning long. Try one or try them all!
Side note: If you suspect you have celiac disease, or a problem with gluten, make sure to get tested BEFORE going gluten-free for accurate test results. For more information on celiac disease, visit cureceliacdisease.org.
IngredientsGluten Free Cereals - Honey Crunch, yogurt, berries,
Top 6 ounces of your favorite yogurt (I used coconut yogurt here) with mixed berries and Van's Honey Nut Crunch Cereal. (For an even faster breakfast, mix the yogurt and fruit ahead of time, then add the cereal when you're ready to eat!)
